Indigenous Development

The Northern Territory Government is committed to closing the gap of disadvantage between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Territorians and improving the lives of Aboriginal people in the Territory.

Working Future is a visionary six-part plan that will develop large service towns (Territory Growth Towns), set a new path for outstations and homelands, and coordinate the delivery of infrastructure, services and development in remote regions of the Territory. Through the Closing the Gap and Working Future strategies, the government is committed to seven building blocks; of these our department is responsible for the delivery of three - economic development, healthy homes, and governance and leadership.
