Arnhem

The department's Arnhem region includes east and west Arnhem Land, where we service 13 remote communities spread over 94,000 square kilometres. 

Our team engages with clients and stakeholders in the region to implement policies of the Northern Territory and Australian governments, which include:

• Territory 2030
• SIHIP
• Closing the Gap
• the National Partnership Agreement on Remote Service Delivery
• Local Implementation Plans.

The regional office is in Nhulunbuy on the Gove Peninsula from where our teams services clients in the Arnhem Region. The office is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective community engagement with our clients in the areas of:

• urban and remote community public housing services
• government employee housing
• local government service delivery in urban and remote communities
• regional development through key projects across Arnhem Land, including the region's eight Territory Growth Towns and is other regional centres.

A key focus is community engagement and building community capacity and capability through collaborative community based planning . This includes the effective delivery of government programs that align with community needs and government policy priorities.
